Where the sycamore grows
Sister do you know how I got here?
Sitting still is the one thing feared
I’ve got solace underneath my pillow
I’d be a liar if I said that my thoughts weren’t clear
Hope glows feel the weight of it on you
I don’t care if we lose our way
Quieter moments they are harder to come by
Lost in the dance of the day to day
I was on fire burning out slow, thousand little moments that I couldn’t let go
Ripping at the seams pulling at the thread, turning over every single thing that people said
Whispers in the night that’ll throw you
Hunger for a delicate show
How do I keep it all under and breathe
Where the sycamore grows
Brother I know the voice of reason
But there are ghosts where the dead men tread
I can always feel the pull of invention
Tripping me up everything I said
Not a saint not a sinner, in between
Two posts, deep in the heartwood caught
When we were younger, swimming in harmony
Hymns and psalms in the church halls
I’ve been running cold let the peace wash over me, feel the small force that’ll keep my sanity
Every dream I held still matters, is it only ever once that a heart might shatter?
Whispers in the night that’ll throw you
Hunger for a delicate show
How do I keep it all under and breathe
Where the sycamore grows
A little honest doubt don’t bother me
Faith is the right to be cloaked in uncertainty
Feel the northwind blowing through your hair, I know you still care
Head out like a mayfly and all you see is life, never feel the strain of the wrongs and the rights
Rest a little easier no matter how you try, there’s light in the days weeks months that you cry
Whispers in the night that’ll throw you
Hunger for a delicate show
How do I keep it all under and breathe
Where the sycamore grows
